Three Lakes Welcomes New Executive Director, Collette Sorgel

December 5, 2018 (Three Lakes, WI) – The Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Collette Sorgel as Executive Director.

“In the last year, the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce directed efforts toward stronger marketing strategies that would bring more tourism and commerce to our community” stated Justin Behling, Chamber President. “We look forward to the continued progress in 2019 under the effective leadership of Collette Sorgel and the teamwork of our Executive Director and Marketing Director.”

Collette Sorgel has experience in both the corporate and nonprofit settings. Before coming to the Chamber, she worked with Vilas County News Review, TDS Telecom as VP of Marketing & Sales, served as a business consultant, and was an instructor at Nicolet Area Technical College. Collette and her husband Dave reside in Three Lakes.

“Our community has so much to offer. I’m looking forward to collaborating with our business community and non-profits,” stated Collette Sorgel, new Executive Director. “Three Lakes is vital to the lifestyle of our Northwoods residents and visitors. I am excited to play a role in making our community stand out.”

Collette Sorgel will begin serving as Executive Director on December 13th.

October 23, 2018 (Three Lakes, WI) – The Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce announces it has created the position of Marketing Director and is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director in the coming weeks.

“In 2018, the Three Lakes Chamber made many strides in developing a digital marketing strategy and moving the organization in a direction that meets with the technological trends for business while also maintaining involvement in more traditional forms of media” stated Justin Behling, Chamber President. “It is with regret that we announce the departure of Sarah Flashing from the role of Executive Director, but we are excited to inform our members and the public that she will maintain involvement as the organization’s Marketing Director. We are currently accepting resume submissions for the role of Executive Director and excited about what the future holds with two skilled professionals in each of these roles and doing even more to promote Three Lakes and the member businesses.”

“It’s been an exciting year for me in Three Lakes. I’ve enjoyed working with the Chamber members and working hard to promote tourism, and finding new and interesting ways to bring more business to the community” stated Sarah Flashing, current Executive Director of the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. “I am eager to continue in the role of Marketing Director and to fully support the new, yet-to-be-hired Executive Director and continue to see growth in our Chamber. Sarah Flashing will continue to work at the Chamber office as Executive Director until early December.

August 23, 2018 (Three Lakes, WI) – Come to Three Lakes for an amazing couple of days of musical performances at various venues in and outside of town! On Friday and Saturday, September 21-22, experience the Three Lakes live music scene for a 2-day North by Northwoods music crawl. Visit iconic business establishments and enjoy hearing eclectic music in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

“Three Lakes is considered the gem of the Northwoods. While we will always be known as a premier destination for amazing outdoor experiences on the largest inland chain of lakes in the world as well as the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, we also are a community filled with amazing business establishments and people who have a real passion for the arts,” stated Sarah Flashing, Executive Director of the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. “The 2018 North by Northwoods: 3Lakes Music Crawl will feature a variety of musical performances throughout the community and will connect with the musical tastes of everyone. Come out to Three Lakes and let us entertain you in style!”

A shuttle will be provided on Saturday, September 22, at no charge to transport guests from venue to venue including some lodging destinations in the Three Lakes area.

Musical acts currently booked include Midwest talent like flutist Vicki Logan, rock band Wyatt & the Immortals and local bands including Diamond Pepper, Spotlight Polka Band, the Hurleywoodz and Anthony Lux. Locations of performances include the Black Forest, American Legion, Pike’s Pine Isle, Diversions, Northernaire, Three Lakes Center for the Arts and more.

Three Lakes Photography Contest

The Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Three Lakes Center for the Arts are partnering for a photo contest.  Winners will be featured in social media, the Three Lakes Chamber website, and a public art gallery at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts.  A reception will be held for the winning photographers in October 2018.  Winners and runners-up will be selected from both adult and youth submissions (with parental consent). Please help us get the word out about this contest!

Photos (high resolution) may depict any perspective of Three Lakes outdoors from the snowy trails to the summery warmth of the chain of lakes. Photos of downtown and other populated areas of the Three Lakes area are also encouraged. Please see rules for other information.

Photos must be submitted by 20th of each month, January through October, and must include photographers’s name, phone number, age (if under 18) and title of photo. Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Welcomes New Executive Director

November 8, 2017 (Three Lakes, WI) – The Board of Directors of the Three Lakes Area
Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Sarah Flashing as the new Executive Director.
Flashing brings to Three Lakes more than 15 years of experience that includes event
management, education, public relations, advertising and web development.
Flashing grew up in southwest Wisconsin and relocated to the area from northern Illinois to
serve as Advertising Manager, and briefly Interim Marketing Director, at North Star Mohican
Casino Resort in Bowler, WI. Previously, she was Board President and Marketing Director at
Harvard Community Radio in Harvard, IL.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work for the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce
and be a voice for businesses in the community,” said Flashing. “My passion is to help
businesses grow and communities flourish. I’m eager to connect with business, organizational,
and civic leaders in the area and work diligently to achieve the goals of the Chamber.”

“We are excited to have Flashing join our team,” said Justin Behling, Chamber Board President.
“She brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience in marketing and communications and
is a proven leader committed to the advancement of business and organizations in the Three
Lakes area.”

Flashing begins her role at the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce on Monday,
November 27.
